Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing between Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) and Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU)

On Monday, 23 September 2019, Rector of UNAIR visited LJMU, Liverpool, United Kingdom. This was a courtesy visit from UNAIR after LJMU delegation visited UNAIR on the middle of September 2019. The delegation was warmly welcome by the Ms. Sarah Beresford, Director of International Relations of LJMU, together with the representatives from Pharmacy Education and Profesional Practice; Professor of Cardiovascular Nursing, Associate Dean for research, Scholarship and Knowledge transfer School of Nursing and Allied Health; Head of International Partnership and International Partnership Manager. The strategic meeting was fruitful and both sides are agreed to continue the collaboration activities in the field of Joint Research and Publication, Academic Mobility for student and staff, Joint PhD supervision and post-doctoral program. As on August 2019 UNAIR received the students from LJMU joining the Summer Program, Sura-Bali at Universitas Airlangga.

 

This courtesy meeting was closed by the MOU signing between two universities, represented by the Rector of UNAIR together with Interim Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of LJMU. Through this meeting, the partnership between these two universities are expected to be sustainable in many years to come. 

Universitas Airlangga Courtesy Visit to University of Liverpool


 
On Monday, 23 September 2019, Rector of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) had a courtesy visit to University of Liverpool (UoL), Liverpool, United Kingdom. The delegation was warmly welcome by Prof. Gaving Brown, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education together with Prof. Liz Sheffield, Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education); International Partnership Manager, Associate Director International Recruitment, Relations and Study Abroad Team and Head of International Recruitment.

 

This initial visit was aimed to discuss about the possibility of collaboration activities that can be done together between UNAIR and UoL. They discussed about the possibility of academic mobility program (Thematic Summer School, Community Empowerment program and internship program at the hospital). In addition to that, they also discussed about the possibility of having a joint research and publication in the field of Science and Technology and also Medicine. But of course, the area of collaboration interest can be broadened into many mutual subjects and areas. 

 

Hopefully, after this initial visit, the collaboration activities are expected to be fruitful and beneficial for both institutions in many years to come.

NTU-UNAIR STUDENTS EXCHANGE PROGRAM 2019

From 16-25 July 2019, Universitas Airlangga together with Nanyang Technological University held a Student Exchange Program which aims to improve students English Language skills.


 

On the 2nd day of The Tahir NTU-UNAIR Student Exchange Program (17/07), students were having a class which topic is Understanding Intercultural Communication. The class was delivered by Dr. Christopher Hill at The Hive, NTU. Dr. Hill explained the importance of intercultural understanding to our daily and professional life.
Later, they had a city tour around Singapore’s signature places such as Merlion Park, City Hall, and Parliament House.

3rd Day of theTahir NTU-UNAIR Student Exchange Program 2019

It is the 3rd day of The Tahir NTU-UNAIR Student Exchange Program. Today the students learn about the presentation skill that may be beneficial for their academic and professional activities in the future. The lecturer, Dr. Hill, also give tips and tricks to upgrade student’s presentation performance.


After the lunch break, Ms. Li Shu Yun take over the class into introduction and discussion session with the student buddies. Meeting Follow Up for Korean Culture-Language Center with BBB Korea

Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) hosted second visit from the representatives of BBB Korea in Indonesia, namely Ms. Mee-hei Choie, the Executive Director BBB Korea and Ms. Yoonhee Lee as the Assistant Director, on Monday (15/07/2019). BBB Korea is a non-governmental organization supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Republic of Korea that focuses on conducting language and culture projects as main service.

This visit aims as a meeting follow up to discuss the further update about an establishment of Korean Culture-Language Center proposal that was proposed by BBB Korea to UNAIR. The meeting, that was led by the Vice Rector IV, Junaidi Khotib, S.Si.,M.Kes.,Ph.D.,Apt and the Excecutive Director of Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) UNAIR, Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih, M.Si, mainly discussed several aspects such as the proposed location of Korean Culture-Language Center, support funding available for this center, annual activities plan, and the grand opening schedule.

This meeting was concluded with several agreements such as the Korean Culture-Language Center will be located in Faculty of Pharmacy Building, UNAIR’s Campus C Mulyorejo, Korean Festival will be arranged to be part of Airlangga Global Day 2019 and the Grand Opening of Korean Culture-Language Center will be held in February 2020.
