European-American Desk has a specific task of providing technical services that related to cooperation and networking in European-American region. Based on the instruction and recommendation from the higher officials, this desk will propose cooperation with potential partners in order to promote and improve the teaching quality in Universitas Airlangga. European-American Desk has been initiating cooperation with numerous partners by profiling the potential partners as well as conducting faculty matching, which then be followed with further correspondences. The initiation of the MoU will take approximately 1 week to 3 months, depends on the negotiation process on the format and content of the related MoU. MoU drafting process involves the experts and the faculty leaders during the reviewing process. All recommendations of potential partners are mostly obtained through the international education exhibitions which had been attended by Universitas Airlangga, such as NAFSA, QS Apple, APAIE, ASAIHL, and other conferences and consortiums of higher education institutions; in which our representatives have conducted a brief investigation and profiling on the potential partners during the exhibition.
In addition, European-American Desk is responsible for managing the schedule of the cooperation under its supervision, including regular meetings and strategic meetings, both internally and externally with potential/established partners. The strategic meetings have arised the potential developments and opportunities of the cooperation which can be further developed, particularly by the visits of the potential/established partners. Furthermore, using the cooperation which have been well set up by student or staff exchange programs, joint research and other academic collaborations, European-American Desk actively monitors the incoming and outgoing international academic mobility from the European-American Region to Universitas Airlangga. The evaluation of the established partnerships is also the responsibility of European-American Desk in order to supervise the activity of cooperation as well as to minimalize any sleeping MoU/MoA.
At last, European-American Desk routine jobs is to conduct document filing, particularly those that related to European-American Partnerships, administer any European-American related matters, conduct financial administration for any IOP’s development activities/programs, and execute other given tasks that are relevant with IOP’s duty.
