Japanese Government Scholarship for Japanese Studies Program at University of Miyazaki

University of Miyazaki Japanese Studies program is a one year program intended for undergraduate international students who are majoring in fields related to Japanese language and culture. The aim of the program is to improve Japanese proficiency, to impart the knowledge and skills required to conduct Japanese studies, and to help students acquire a practical knowledge of the Japanese language and culture for use in society.

Qualifications

  • Applicants who do not live in Japan
  • Applicants who do not have Japanese nationality. Applicants must have the nationality of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan
  • Applicants must be born between April 2, 1989 and April 1, 2001
  • UNAIR undergraduate students majoring related to Japanese language or Japanese culture at the time of arriving in and leaving Japan. Applicants must have studied Japanese language or Japanese culture one year or more as of September 2019
  • Applicants must have Japanese language ability sufficient for receiving education at University of Miyazaki
  • Applicants must be judged that they are medically adequate to pursue study in Japan by an examining physician on a prescribed certificate of health
  • Applicants must be able to arrive in Japan between 28 September and 2 October
  • Applicants should acquire "student" visas before entering Japan and enter Japan with "Students" residence status
  • Applicant must return to their home country and continue to study at their home institution immediately after the end of the scholarship period. In addition, while the applicant is studying in Japan, he/she shall contribute to mutual understanding between Japan and the home country by participating in activities at schools and communities with the aim of contributing to the internationalization of Japan. 
  • Any applicants who meets any or all of the following conditions ineligible. If identified after the start of the scholarship period, the applicant will be required to withdraw from the scholarship. 
    • Those who are military personnel or military civilian employees at the time of their

    • arrival in Japan;

    • Those who have received a Japanese Government Scholarship (MEXT scholarship) in the past;
    • Those who currently make a double application for other MEXT scholarship program such as Research Students)
    • Those who are currently enrolled at a Japanese university with “Student” residence status; those enrolled, or scheduled to be enrolled, at a Japanese university as a privately financed international student during the period when the scholarship application was filed in the home country until prior to the start of the provision of the scholarship; However, even if the applicant is currently a privately financed international student studying in Japan, this restriction does not apply to an applicant who will certainly finish the current course before the start of the designated course at the Japanese university and will return to the home country.
    • Recipients of scholarships from institutions other than MEXT (including government institutions in their home countries) that overlapping with the Japanese Government Scholarship after arrival in Japan;
    • Holders of dual nationality at the time of application who cannot verify that they give up Japanese nationality by the time of the arrival in Japan.

These documents must be written in either Japanese or English. A document written in any other language must be attached with a Japanese or English translation.

  • Academic transcript *Please mark the subjects related to Japanese language or Japanese culture
  • Recommendation from your university to the president of the University of Miyazaki
  • Proof of Japanese language ability (ex. Certificate of JLPT)
  • Medical certificate *issued within the past 6 months

AFL Summer Courses at Hebron University - Palestine 2019

The registration for  intensive courses in Levantine Spoken Arabic for non-native speakers (AFL) is now open. It is open to anyone wishing to enrich their cultural and linguistic experience, starting 9th June-2019 with last course running 21st July- 3rd August 2019 inclusive.

Chonnam National University International Summer Session 2019

Renowned scholars from Chonnam National University and other prestigious universities around the world will guide you through an exciting intellectual adventure. Student participants can take up to 6 credits during the four-week period and experience Korean culture during the CNU International Summer Session.

The courses offered are 4 weeks and are taught by the professors of proven expertise and experience in the most leading-edge areas of knowledge of our university and partner universities abroad. National Chung Hsing University Fall Semester Exchange Programs 2019

The student exchange program from National Chung Hsing University is designed to facilitate international cooperation and exchange with partner institutions of NCHU. There are two programs as follows :

  • Program for Academic Exchange (PAX)
    This program offers incoming exchange students diverse courses taught in Chinese or English in the Colleges of Liberal Arts, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Veterinary Medicine, Management, Law and Politics, Life Sciences, and Science.
  • Lab Exchange
    This program offers incoming exchange students the opportunity to do research under the professors’ instruction. Research related to many fields of study are also offered. Each student will be assigned a mentor professor for consultation during his/her stay at NCHU. Students who are interested in learning more about Taiwan to join PAX/Lab Exchange are welcomed and expected to share their culture.

  • Undergradute or graduate student at UNAIR;
  • Completed at least one year of full-time study at one of NCHU's partner universities;
  • Nominated by the International Office (or equivalent) of home university;
  • Achieved a minimum of CGPA 3.00 (out of 4.00);
  • English proficiency of IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550 or equivalent (ELPT is allowed).

Program Benefits

  • Tuition waived (The fees of mandatory insurance and accommodation are not included. Students need to pay both fees by themselves.)
  • Monthly stipend will be offered upon budget availability and qualification of students.
