Singapore Management University Leadership Symposium: Beyond Boundaries 2018

The annual Singapore Management University (SMU) Leadership Symposium is a university-wide event organised by the Office of Student Life. First launched in 2014, it is a two-day event targeted at tertiary students who serve, or desire to serve, in a leadership position. The symposium serves to provide a platform for participants to gain insights into the multifaceted approach to leadership and be empowered with tools, knowledge and ideas to take on student leadership positions.

Each year, the symposium is centered on a core aspect of leadership or an element that is relevant to tertiary students. In 2014 – 2016, the themes were Cornerstones in LeadershipIlluminating Leaders and Setting Your Compass.

Dates: 11 - 13 December 2018

Cost borne by SMU:
- Airport transfers [from-and-to Singapore Changi Airport]
- Accomodation [5D 4N]

Cost borne by international students:
- Airport ticket [to-and-from Singapore]
- Travel and medical insurance 
- Personal expenses during R&R


  • Active student of UNAIR (Undergraduate Student);
  • Strong academic performance (cGPA > 3.00)
  • Highly fluent in required language (English: TOEFL iBT 80+ / IELTS 6.0+ / ELPT 500+). 
  • Committed towards the program upon nomination

  • Curriculum Vitae (in English)
  • Academic transcript (in English)
  • English proficiency certificate
  • Statement letter with theme "Reason to participate Singapore Management University Leadership Symposium: Beyond Boundaries 2018" (300 Words, in English)
  • One copy of ID page of Passport (if available) with more than 1 Year validity from application

Application Procedure

  1. Students must fill online internal screening form and upload required documents by 23 August 2018.
  2. AGE UNAIR will review all application after the mentioned deadline.
  3. AGE will contact shortlisted candidates for further application process.
