Citypreneurs - Seoul UN SDGs Startup Competition Outreach

Seoul Metropolitan Government, UN ESCAP, UNDP, WFUNA, among others are co-organising Urban Innovation Challenge: Citypreneurs, a young UN SDGs focused startup competition held this October 31.

The competition invites both early and mid-stage startups to solve urban problems in with Seoul as the testing ground.  The main goal of this undertaking is to provide validation and funding for businesses with social good in mind.  The three themes of this year’s competition are social protection, urban mobility, and green energy, so startups with businesses models that fall into these categories are more likely to succeed. Applications run until August 15.

This year, the host are trying to further internationalize our program by reaching out to young innovators in East Asia, South-East Asia, Europe, and the Americas.  We encourage any teams with socially minded business ideas to apply.  One member of finalist teams will be offered travel compensation to come to the Republic of Korea on our final pitch day, October 31.
