Endeavour

The Government of Australia through the Australia Agency for International Development (AusAID) offers Endeavour Awards Scholarship 2012. This scholarship is very internationally competitive and merit based. The following are the types of Endeavour Awards offered for Indonesian citizens:

1. Endeavour Postgraduate Awards

Intended for future Master’s Degree or PhD applicants with period of study up to 4 years

2. Endeavour VET Awards

Intended for future Vocational Studies (diploma, D3 or D4) applicants with period of study up to 2.5 years

3. Endeavour Executive Awards

Intended for professional who wants to take short training in the field of business, industry, education, and government with period of study 1 to 4 months

4. Endeavour Research Fellowships and Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Research Fellowships

Intended for prospective researchers who want to conduct a brief research in Australia, with period study varies from 4 to 6 months

All types of scholarships are available for all fields of studies excluding Endeavour Executive Awards which particularly designed for 4 study areas. The registration is open on April 1 to June 30. For further information, visit  www.AustraliaAwards.gov.au

Australian Leadership Award Scholarship (ALAS)

The Government of Australia through the Australian Embassy in Jakarta has offered Australian Leadership Award Scholarship (ALAS) for Postgraduate study (S2 and S3) in Australia. This scholarship covers tuition fee, living cost, and return tickets.

For 2012/2013, the Australian Government provides 200 scholarships for participants originated from developing countries. The prioritized fields of study are related to these following issues: disability, economic growth, education, environment, food security, gender, governance, health, human rights, infrastructure, regional stability, rural development, and water and sanitation. In addition, the participants are included in the leadership development improvement through Leadership Development Program.

Requirements:

  1. Nominated by each working unit;
  2. Have not been receiving or have received scholarship from the Government of Australian in the last 12 months prior to the applications
  3. Has not been engaged or married to Australian or New Zealand citizens or any citizen that has obtained permanent residence in one of the two countries mentioned before
  4. Have not been receiving any other scholarship programs; and
  5. The Application form can be downloaded at http://www.adsindonesia.or.id/
  6. Submit the registration documents (1 soft copy of application form, 1 original document, and 3 hard copies of referred documents) which consist of:
    1. Completed application form
    2. Copy of birth certificate
    3. Copy of Passport / National ID (KTP)
    4. Resume (CV)
    5. Copy of Diploma and Transcript which has been legalized by the related officials and the legalized translated transcript and diploma. The PhD applicants should attach the his/her Bachelor’s diploma/transcript
    6. TOELF/IELTS score (original) taken on (min.) 11 March 2010:
  • IELTS score minimum 6.5 with band score no less than 6
  • International TOEFL paper based minimum 580 or
  • International TOEFL computer based minimum 237; or
  • International TOEFL internet based minimum 92;
  1. Reference Letter (can be downloaded at http://www.adsindonesia.or.id/);
  2. Completed Nominating Agency form (can be downloaded at http://www.adsindonesia.or.id/);
  3. Providing 2 references from academic supervisor (especially for Master by Research and PhD applicants);
  4. For Master by Research and PhD applicants are encouraged to attach his/her research proposal

Australian Development Scholarship (ADS)

ADS is funded by Australian Government for Graduate Program to study in Australian Universities. ADS is a form of appreciation towards long-term development program managed by AusAID. The main goal of ADS is to improve the human resources capacity in Indonesia which will support:

  • Sustainable Growth and Economic Management;
  • Democracy, Justice and Good Governance;
  • Investing in People; and
  • Safety and Peace

This scholarship is the instrumental to the cooperation development program between Indonesia and Australia, by providing approximately 11,000 scholarships for more than 50 years. ADS is a form of cooperation in the field of high value development and aiming to contribute to the needs of long-term development  in the Australian’s partner countries in order to promote growth and stability.

An equal number of scholarships will be allocated for men and women and up to 30% for residents of East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara, Papua, West Papua, and Aceh which has been the focused area of Australian aids program.

The requirements needed for this scholarship is not complicated. ADS is open to all prospective students and can be originated from government or private parties. The priorities and requirements for this scholarship is applied to field of study which aims to improve the human resource capability in Indonesia as well as the development that will support the sustainable growth, economic management, investment for human development, democracy, justice, good governance, and safety and peace.

Requirements for ADS:

  • Max. age of 42 years when applying
  • Applying one of the course in the 4 priority development areas
  • Have a minimum GPA minimum 2.9 and IELTS score 5.0; TOEFL ITP 500; or TOEFL iBT 39
  • For those who interested in continuing to study for Master Degree, the applicant should have finished his/her undergraduate study; and for PhD program the applicant should have finished his/her Master (S2)
  • Copy of birth certificate
  • Copy of Passport / National ID (KTP)
  • Copy of Diploma and Transcript which has been legalized by the related officials
  • Original document of IELTS/TOEFL score taken on 2009 or 2010 (the latest)
  • Academic references from your current supervisor for PhD applicants
  • Research proposal for PhD and Master’s Degree applicants (Full Research)

The application should be made in 3 (three) copies and submitted to:
