Introduction and Description

Best Buddies Program

The first arrival for international students at Universitas Airlangga is not always easy as they have to deal with new environment and any other new things they might have not experienced before. feeling excited for a new journey and anxious tend to dominate during the first period of their arrivals at Universitas Airlangga. In responding to this situation, Airlangga Global Engagement initiates a voluntary program namely Best Buddies Program. This program aims to assist international students to overcome the challenges and adapt to new environment during their first stage of university life at Universitas Airlangga. This program is not only beneficial to the international students but also to the members of Best Buddies as they could establish lifelong friendship with international students and gain new experience in the form of assisting the international students. 

 

Responsibilities

The members of Best Buddies are expected to commit the following responsibilities during the program :

- Participating on airport pickups

- Assisting international students in getting the accommodation

- Assisting international students in arranging living permit inquiry

- Conducting campus tour for international students

- Providing necessary supports for international students during the academic program at Universitas Airlangga

 

Application and Program Timeline

Criteria

To apply for Best Buddies, the requirements are :  

  1. An active student of Universitas Airlangga 
  2. Have an excellent communication skills
  3. Have an excellent problem solving skill
  4. Be able to work in team
  5. Be able to to build a positive relationship with international students
  6. Be willing to engage on events conducted by Airlangga Global Engagement
  7. Have an impressive knowledge about local cultures and cross cultural understanding.

 

Duration

The program will run for one academic year. Starting from June 2019 – June 2020. You will be awarded by an official certificate of completion by the end of the program.

 

Document Requirements

  1. Curriculum vitae
  2. English proficiency certificate (ELPT/TOEFL min 500)
  3. Letter of Interest (Min. 2 Paragraphs)
