Semmelweis University, Hungary Visitation to UNAIR

 

 

 

On Tuesday, 14 January 2020, Universitas Airlangga warmly welcomed Semmelweis University, Hungary. Prof. Béla MERKELY MD, PhD, MSc, DSc, FESC, FACC (Rector of SOTE University); Dr. Szilàrd Nagy (Former State of Secretary of Health in Hungary); Bódis Gyula (First Advisor of Rector); Irva Rosyida,SE(First Adviser of Indonesia to the Rector; Komlosi Peter (CEO-East-Hope); Komà Gabor (Expert of Education) were representative of Semmelweis University. At 03.30 PM, Dian Ekowati SE.,M.Si.,M.AppCom(OrgCh).,Ph.D as Director Executive of Airlangga Global Engagement opened the meeting in 301 Room.  Representative of Faculties of Universitas Airlangga attended the meeting such as Public Health Faculty, Medicine Faculty, Dentistry Faculty, Science and Technology Faculty, Pharmacy Faculty.

Airlangga Global Engagement develops 2020 strategic plan to improve UNAIR’s global recognition

Delegation Visit from Embassy of Republic of Poland

On Wednesday (27/11/2019) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) received a delegation visit from the embassy of Republic of Poland for Indonesia, represented by H.E. Beata Stoczyńska as the ambassador and the other staffs of the embassy. UNAIR was represented by deans and vice deans of various faculties. There were also representative from Airlangga Global Engagement and Vice Rector I, Prof. dr. Djoko Santoso, Ph.D, K-GH., FINASIM. Delivered his speech at the meeting.
 
All of the delegates from the embassy of Republic of Poland for Indonesia and UNAIR were warmly welcomed by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. dr. Djoko Santoso, Ph.D, K-GH., FINASIM. and a welcoming speech from H.E. Beata Stoczyńska as the ambassador. The meeting was attended by several faculties from UNAIR such as Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dental Medicine, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Faculty of Humanities, and  Post-Graduate School. The aims of the meeting mainly was to discuss the joint research collaboration between UNAIR and universities in Poland, mainly University of Jagiellonia and University of Warsaw, and also exploring the potential collaboration activities of each faculties in Universitas Airlangga. Therefore, each representative from respective faculties delivered their aspirations upon the academic, research, and community services partnership with those universities of Poland.
 
 
The courtesy visit was closed by encouraging speech from Prof. dr. Djoko Santoso. UNAIR and all the faculties therein wish the visit and meeting could strenghten the relationship with Poland and the universities in Poland and also could build a stronger and sustainable cooperation in the future with Poland and the universities in Poland. 

Courtesy Visit from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi at Universitas Airlangga

This Thursday, 9 January 2020, representatives from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi visited Universitas Airlangga. Professor Nomesh B. Bolia and his two colleagues visited Airlangga to promote higher education study opportunities between institutions, especially Masters and PhD level programs for the graduate and postgraduate students. 

IIT Delhi is located in India’s capital city New Delhi and primarily specialises in engineering, technology, and bioscience studies.  Since its establishment in 1961, IIT Delhi has operated three faculties: Engineering, Physical Sciences, and Humanities and Social Sciences.  These three faculties cover more than fifteen departments and fourteen ‘Centres of Excellence’.

Besides the Educational Program above, IIT Delhi also offers various Exchange programs. The institute has established MOUs (Memorandum of Understandings) with more than 38 countries, and is currently operating exchange programs in more than 20 countries around the world, including Indonesia.  Furthermore, IIT offers special scholarships for students of the ASEAN region, including the ‘Exclusively for ASEAN Scholarship’ and the ‘Indian PM to All 10 Asian Leaders’.  These scholarships offer funding to international students for up to 5 years. As a result, among 80 to 100 international students study at the Institute every year and Indonesia contributes significantly to this number. A Fully Funded PhD Fellows Application scholarship also being offered and it covers a $10,000 annual grant, as well as a $2,000 monthly salary.

Information on these scholarships and how they can be applied for can be found online, with two rounds of applications occurring each year. The selection process involves both administrative selection based on applications, followed by an online interview for the shortlisting applicants. Lastly, IIT Delhi facilitates an enjoyable learning environment, entrepreneurship training, and good networking opportunities for its students, with arrangements with more than 25 relevant companies, alongside a rich community of student societies and organisations. UNAIR Wins Prestigious International Awards in Japan

UNAIR NEWS – At New Otani Hakata Hotel, Fukuoka, Japan, 700 delegates from 42 countries attended the QS APPLE Creative Awards Presentation. It was a part of QS APPLE 2019, a summit of professional leaders in education from countries in Asia Pacific region.

This year’s QS APPLE Creative Awards turned into a special evening for Universitas Airlangga delegates as UNAIR won two prestigious awards. Universitas Airlangga succeeded in winning two awards from the involvement of 70 universities out from Asia Pacific countries.

First award was the Silver Award for the Most Creative Corporate Institution Video and the second award was QSWOWNEWS Top Contributor, awarded to a university with most news published in QSWOWNEWS website. In the award presentation, Universitas Airlangga was invited on stage with Ajman University, which won the Top Article award.

The award was received directly by Suko Widodo, Head of Center for Information and Public Relations Universitas Airlangga from the 2019 Apple QS Committee. The awards were presented by Dato’ Peter T.S. Ng, the founder of UCSI University.

For this award, Suko conveyed his gratitude. He hoped that the spirit of creativity continues to be developed in the management of educational information.

“Thank you to all members of the academic community who have contributed to this achievement. This award will inspire Universitas Airlangga to generate more creativities and innovations, “said Suko.

In addition to the Most Creative Corporate Institution Video category, there are four other categories provided by the organizer. The four categories are Best International Print Advertisement, Best International Student Recruitment Brochure, Best International Website Page, and Best Exhibition Booth Design.

The silver award-winning video of Universitas Airlangga was titled “BE A HERO”. A 4-minute and 8-second long video that tells the story and the role of doctors from the Faculty of Medicine who provide services to remote areas in Indonesia. (*)
