2016 U.S. - Indonesia Partnership Program (USIPP) on "Democratic Society and Religious Pluralism"

The US-Indonesia Partnership program (USIPP) is seeking qualified candidates to represent Universitas Airlangga to join this Exchange Program. You will be fully involved into four-weeks program with students from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Indonesia, Lehigh University, and Towson University both in Indonesia and The United States of America. Successfull candidates will participate the program and will be provided with all accommodation, meals and transportation expenses covered by organizing committees.

About USIPP:

The USIPP Consortium is a private, bilateral initiative founded by twelve higher education institutions in the U.S. and Indonesia, in conjunction with the Institute of International Education, that is committed to increasing all forms of mobility of people and scholarship between higher education institutions in the United States and Indonesia.

This Consortium is a direct result of the 2010 - 2012 U.S. - Indonesia Partnership Program for Study Abroad Capacity, an initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by IIE.

This Consortium include innovative programs such as the “Democratic Society and Religious Pluralism” program, originally co-developed by Lehigh University, the University of Michigan, and Gadjah Mada University in 2010.

3. All transportation both domestic and international transport during the program, accommodation, and meals are fully covered

The program coverage will not cover personal expenses both in Indonesia and in USA.

• CV (Curriculum Vitae) in English
• Strong academic proficiency, proven by latest academic transcript (you can use directly printed "History Nilai" from cybercampus only for this registration purpose) with CGPA (IP Kumulatif, bukan IP Semester) of ≥ 3.25
• Fluent in English, proven by English Proficiency Certificate (e.g.: ITP (≥ 550)/ IELTS (>6)/ IBT (>88) )
• Essay on selected topics :
(1) Religious Pluralism or
(2) Democratic Society
(1500-2000 words, standard formatting)
• Letter of Motivation (500 words)

General Requirements-Qualities of the Candidate:
• Active undergraduate student at Universitas Airlangga
• Has no health issues (able to embark on four-weeks intensive activities)
• Open-minded, positive thinking, good leadership skills
• Commited to the program & program preparations
• Voluntarily willing to have a responsibility for post program activities at IOP
• Currently on Semester 4 or later
• Available and willing to spend at least 4 weeks during academic period on June -July 2016
